Kugluktuk
Our coming to Kugluktuk was really driven by the youth themselves and the Kugluktuk Radio Society (A radio station for youth). Mike Webster was a great support to the youth and as soon as we arrived we toured their radio station and did a guest radio show to help get the word out about what we would be doing for the week. We had traditional drum dancing involved throughout and a performance on the final night by the drum dancing group. There was also a community feast and Blueprint were treated to some snowmobiling on the land. We had great talks on bullying, managing anger and healing, and many of the youth opened up and were very honest with their feelings. It was very interesting to see how the western Arctic was very different from the communities on Baffin Island that we have been to. Thanks so much for having us Kugluktuk !
