Clyde River 2011

For this trip we worked with the Clyde River youth on showing them techniques on how to brainstorm their own ideas and how to slowly build their own show based on their own collective thoughts and cultural history. This was the start to the larger show that they eventually performed in Ottawa at the Museum of Civilization and at Rideau Hall. We also ran workshops on sound and music creation. The youth captured their own sounds locally such as an Elder speaking or dogs barking, and then integrated such sounds into their own music that they created. We had a lot of fun and were taught traditional dances from Elders which were also used in the performance that the youth developed.
